The Zagreb Music Academy
Pavao Mašić works as university professor at the Zagreb Music Academy, where he has been teaching harpsichord since 2008. Upon his arrival at the Music Academy, he introduced two important courses vital for understanding the repertoire of the 17th & the 18th centuries: Basso Continuo & Performance practice of the 17th & the 18th centuries. In 2013 he founded the Student Baroque Ensemble of the Music Academy, dedicated to the performance of larger vocal-instrumental works. He is also interested in issues concerning keyboard repertoire and keyboard technique in general, which he explores through several courses aimed at organ, harpsichord and piano students. These courses examine various methods for the optimization of students' learning process: sight reading strategies ('scan-reading'), time-management and practice strategies, performance analysis and advice in many other issues concerning a future musician’s everyday life.
As an organ teacher, Pavao Mašić regularly gives organ masterclasses in Croatia and Slovenia, where he teaches organ interpretation. His organ students have been laureates of several Croatian music competitions for young organists.
